When I open an SDF file of a chemical structure in ChemDraw 16, all hydrogens are shown. I tried to hide them by going to Document Settings > Atom Labels > (check) Hide implicit Hydrogens, and select "Modify existing structures" when prompted.

However, nothing changes in the structure. All hydrogens are still present.

Is there another way to hide implicit hydrogens?

Is this only happening with SD Files you import? How are those files created? Does it happen with SD Files created in ChemDraw?

There was a problem reported in previous versions of CDAX when copying and pasting structures from other programs such as BioViaDraw or AccelrysDraw, perhaps this behavior is similar.

The workaround at the moment was to have the Hide implicit Hydrogens option checked when copying the structure. Then going to the Document settings again, uncheck the option, click OK and then check the option again and click OK once more.

If the issue continues, please contact support using the link below and provide a sample SD File:
