I created a personal ChemDraw items folder (e.g. C:\example) which was added to the ChemDraw Items location through Preferences -> Directories. Template files (*.ctp) are working fine from within this custom directory, however, nicknames (stored as *.cdxml) fail to be recognized. When placed in the default nickname folder C:\ProgramData\PerkinElmerInformatics\ChemOffice2017\ChemDraw\ChemDraw Items\Nicknames they work fine. Is this the expected behaviour or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Scharpi, The functionality you are noting is correct. Any .cdxml files are only recognizedi n the Nicknames folder only. They cannot be read from other directories. Hope this helps! Please, let us know if you have additional issues or contact Informatics.Customer_service@PERKINELMER.COM to log a ticket. |

Hi, We recommend the default paths for the ChemDraw Items folder: C:\ProgramData\PerkinElmerInformatics\ChemOffice2017\ChemDraw\ChemDraw Items If you change the paths ChemDraw will ask for the location of the GUI folder the next launch: C:\ProgramData\PerkinElmerInformatics\ChemOffice2017\ChemDraw\GUI Make sure you remove the default locations from the Preferences>Directories after you add your custom paths. If you need further assistance please create a Support ticket here:

Hi both, Thanks for your explanation. We want to share a library of common building blocks within our workgroup. As this library is growing rapidly it seems more convenient to put it on a centralized network resource and add the path to the preferences instead of copying all structures to each individual computer on a regular basis. Any workaround? |
