I cannot get my Chemdraw excel plugin to work, although it had been functioning previously. I have worked through both enabling the add-in, as well as checking the ChemDrawExcelAddIn17.ExcelAddIn registry values. Neither has helped Can you offer any additional solutions?

Hi, The first suggestion is to install all Microsoft updates availabe. There are some updates known to affect the chemdraw pluggin, but most of the issues have been fixed with the latest updates from Microsoft. If the issue continues, then you should uninstall ChemDraw and the registry keys found under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > PerkinElmerInformatics (Just delete the folder). Then do a complete uninstall of MS Office, following the instructions found here: Finally reinstall MS Office and ChemDraw and test again. ------------------------- - PKI Support |

@PKI_Ortega — Do you have another solution for this problem? Clean reinstall of MS Office is not practical within tightly administrator-controlled corporate environments with strict user policies (including no local admin rights). My company's user-policy-imposed settings in Excel block ChemDraw for Excel from executing its commands in existing CDXL worksheets, e.g. in files opened from a template, or in newly opened CDXL worksheets after they have been saved. Any idea at all what is causing this apparent incompatibility?? Have you heard of any such problems yet with v.18.0? Thanks. My system: Win10 Enterprise v.1709 64-bit; MS Office 2016 32-bit; COP 17.1 Edited: 12/10/2018 at 4:06 PM by ajdambra |
