ChemDraw 19.0 qualified with Mac OSX Catalina beta. Versions prior to 19.0 are not supported with Mac OSX Catalina ------------------------- - PKI Support Edited: 10/31/2019 at 9:19 PM by CS RNA |

Unfortuantely, I can verify that CD 18.2 crashes on save or window close on almost every use. No news on a version that functions with Catalina? Update: I appear to have found a work around? If I open an existing file and copy the contents, make a new empty window, and paste the structure I can save the file successfully and reopen it. This is not optimal but I maybe don't need to install a virtual Mojave on Catalina for now. Update 2: It still crashes once in a while but I have had a fair bit of success with this. I have been using Chemdraw 19.0 with Catalina now for a couple of weeks; however, I also found that it was crashing whenever I tried to save the document (using 'command s' or File-->Save); however, I found that if I just closed the window it would save and not crash. But, then I kept using command-s (out of habit) so I used the System's Keyboard Control Panel to Adjust the Chemdraw 19.0 Shortcut for Save to Close the window. This is a bit annoying (that the window closes now, but at least I don't lose my work). I have also found that I need to deleted the relevant Chemdraw Files in the ~Library/Saved Application State. ------------------------- Brian J. Myers, Ph.D. |
