We are having trouble deleting plates and measurements from our Columbus server. Specifically, we have a plate that was read ~50 times for a stress test, so in our Columbus structure, we see a single plate with ~50 measurements. We are unable to delete either a single measurement or the parent plate folder. Other plates from the same user can be deleted without any issues. Are there any other options for deleting this data, perhaps at the command line?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Chris,

Are you using Columbus2.6? If so, are the duplicate plates/screens named similarly? We know of a problem in Columbus2.6 where the delete doesn’t work if you have screens with identical names before a space, e.g...

ScreenName1: “Screen One”
ScreenName2: “Screen Two”

Deleting either of these screens or any measurement below them would likely fail. This is fixed in Columbus2.7.

If this doesn’t help then I'd suggest we open up a support ticket so that we can dig a little deeper. It is possible to delete via the command line but it’s not a particularly straightforward process.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

Yes, we're using Columbus v2.6. Our structure looks like this:

  • Screen: Test
  • > Plate: 00001688
  • >> 50 Measurement folders with sequential timestamps
  • > Plate: 00001692
  • >> 50 Measurement folders with sequential timestamps
I can rename the screen and/or the plates, but this still doesn't help with deletion.
I'll go ahead and open a support ticket with logs attached so that we can troubleshoot further.
Thanks,
Chris
