When the ILS does not start, some common troubleshooting includes:

1) restarting the machine;

2) checking if the dongle light is on;

3) re-installing the USB dongle drivers if the device is not recognized at My Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager -> look for an icon with a yellow exclamation mark next to it called "Unknown USB Device", or similar -> click this icon -> Remove -> Refresh -> Windows should then re-detect the dongle and install the correct driver; and

4) checking if the "PerkinElmer Imaging License Server" service is running (restarting this service if needed) at My Computer -> Manage -> Services and Applications -> Services.
