You will need: Microscope slide, coverslip, yellow highlighter, clear nail varnish 1. Apply ink on one surface of the slide using a yellow highlighter pen. Color an area roughly the same size as the coverslip area 2. Leave the ink to dry completely. Either leave it under a hot lamp or place in an oven to completely dry. Do not proceed to the next step unless the ink is completely touch dry, try it with your finger to confirm 3. Stick a coverslip over the dried ink. You can use clear nail varnish for sealing the edges and securing in place. 4. The ink slide is ready to mount on the microscope. You can now follow the Photokinesis calibration procedure on page 151 of the user guide available from: http://cellularimaging.perkinelmer.com/pdfs/manuals/VolocityuserGuide.pdf
Top tip, If you have trouble focusing on the slide look for imperections in the ink, i.e gaps in the ink or bubbles. Edited: 11/11/2015 at 3:53 PM by Jace |
